The government media office in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Wednesday morning that “the electricity generation company is threatened with shutting down within hours due to running out of fuel, which threatens to plunge the Strip into complete darkness and make it impossible to provide the continuation of all basic life services.”
The media office indicated in a statement, “In the face of this reality that threatens the lives of more than 2.3 million people, we are launching a very urgent distress call to the international community and its humanitarian and relief organizations.”
The media office called on the international community "to act quickly to stop this crime against humanity and this multi-form mass killing, and to ensure that the Gaza Strip is provided with all means of life, and not to leave its population hostage to the killing tools used by the occupation."
