The Israeli authorities demolish Al-Araqib in the Negev for the 217th time

Today, Tuesday, the Israeli authorities demolished the tents of the residents of the village of Al-Araqib, which is denied recognition and threatened with uprooting and displacement, in the Negev region in the lands of 1948, for the 217th time in a row, since its first demolition on July 27, 2010.

On May 1, 2023, the Israeli authorities demolished the homes of Al-Araqib residents for the 216th time.

This is the sixth time that the Israeli authorities have demolished the tents of Al-Araqib residents since the beginning of this year, after demolishing them 15 times last year, and 14 times in 2021.

The people of al-Araqib re-erect their tents every time, made of wood and a nylon cover, to protect them from the bitter cold in the winter and the scorching heat in the summer, and to confront plans to uproot and displace them from their land.

The Israeli authorities refuse to recognize their right of ownership of the land and restrict them, with the aim of pushing them into forced migration by demolishing the village, as well as razing agricultural crops and preventing them from pastures and raising livestock.
