On the anniversary of its founding... Calls for a national dialogue and the rejection of any alternative to the PLO

Hussein Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, called on Saturday for a comprehensive national dialogue that fortifies and protects the capabilities, heritage, history and goals of the Palestinian people in freedom and independence under the leadership of the Liberation Organization, the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinians.

In his tweet, the Sheikh affirmed that the PLO will remain the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, once again the "covenant" to fulfill the idea, goals and voice of this frontal framework that unites all the components of the Palestinian people, and to continue the struggle and struggle to embody the independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. like he said.

In the context, the "Fatah" movement said in a statement that the establishment of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1964 is one of the most important national achievements after the Nakba. In 1969, and it won Arab and international recognition as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people in 1974. As stated in the text of its statement on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the founding of the organization.

She added: "The organization and its national factions, under the leadership of the Fatah movement, were able to reunite the Palestinian people under its umbrella, revive and strengthen the Palestinian national identity, embody the independent Palestinian entity in exile, and bring the Palestinian cause back to the center of attention and to the equations of the Middle East and the political world." And for this issue to return to the agenda of the United Nations as a political issue and national rights, after an absence that lasted more than a quarter of a century, and after the Zionist movement believed that it had ended the existence of Palestine and the Palestinian people in the Nakba of 1948.

Fatah affirmed that it would not allow the organization to be harmed as it is the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and that it would firmly confront suspicious attempts by paid parties to create alternatives to the organization or meager bodies parallel to it, noting that it had fought battles after battles and made sacrifices in order to preserve the organization. and its independent national decision.

Fatah called on the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements to join the organization, explaining that any process of rebuilding or correcting some aspects of the PLO is not done through attempts to liquidate it or create alternatives for it, but rather by joining it and working collectively and on national bases for its advancement.

Fatah stressed that the division is one of the most important reasons for the weakening of the organization, and even the weakening of the Palestinian people and their true resistance to the abhorrent Israeli occupation, noting that ending the division is the correct approach, not only to correct the situation of the organization, but also to the entire national struggle and the Palestinian national movement. According to her statement.

The "Fatah" movement called on the masses of the Palestinian people to unite and cohesion in the face of the continuous Israeli aggression against our people, and to confront the plans to Judaize our historical homeland Palestine, warning against suspicious attempts to undermine our national gains that were achieved through huge sacrifices, and to turn back the hands of time and obliterate the Palestinian national existence. Pointing out that the Palestine Liberation Organization will remain the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and this representative capacity is a red line that prevents approaching it.
