An 18% increase in the trade balance deficit during the month of March

The results of the monitored trade survey of the Central Bureau of Statistics, published today, Wednesday, showed that the value of the deficit in the Palestinian trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, amounted to $585.5 million, an increase of 18% during March 2023 compared to the previous month, while it decreased By 2% compared to March 2022.


According to the results of the survey, exports increased during March of 2023 by 9% compared to the previous month, and increased by 28% compared to March of 2022, with a value of $148.9 million.


Exports to Israel increased during March 2023 by 9% compared to the previous month, and exports to Israel constituted 87% of the total value of exports for March 2023. Exports to the rest of the world also increased by 8% compared to the previous month.


Imports increased during March of 2023 by 16% compared to the previous month, and increased by 3% compared to March of 2022, with a value of $734.4 million.


Imports from Israel increased during March 2023 by 6% compared to the previous month, and imports from Israel accounted for 54% of the total value of imports for March 2023. Imports from the rest of the world also increased by 31% compared to the previous month.
