Sudan.. Clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum

The Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, a former ally and current ally of army commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan , announced the control of the Republican Palace in Khartoum.

And these armed forces said in a statement that they were able to "take full control of the Republican Palace, Khartoum Airport, Meroe and Al-Abis Airports, and a number of locations in other states."

The Sudanese army accused the armed Rapid Support Forces of attacking many of its bases in Khartoum and other areas, shortly after those forces announced the army's attack on its camps.

"Fighters from the Rapid Support Forces attacked several army camps in Khartoum and separate areas in Sudan," army spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah told AFP, adding, "Clashes are continuing and the army is performing its duty to protect the country."
