Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem University

Bank of Palestine provided its contribution to the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability of Bethlehem University in carrying out educational visits to schools, through the mobile educational museum, in several governorates of the country, as part of the Unity and Diversity in Nature and Society project.


The visits carried out by the institute, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, through visits to the mobile educational museum to a number of schools in Hebron, Jericho, and Tubas, aimed at introducing students to the issues of biological and human diversity in Palestine, the importance of preserving it, and promoting responsible interaction of students with the environment through samples and educational materials. contained in the Museum.


Mahmoud Shawa, General Manager of Bank of Palestine, expressed his happiness with Bank of Palestine’s contribution to supporting this educational and educational activity, stressing the importance of this project, which would facilitate the process of delivering information, acquiring the required knowledge to students, and encouraging them to pay attention to environmental issues, stressing the importance of the mobile exhibition in reaching to all segments of our society.


Shawa confirmed that Bank of Palestine’s support for such initiatives and events comes within the context of its strategy and its implementation of the sustainability approach, in addition to its adherence to its social responsibility as an effective Palestinian banking institution that represents an integral part of society, praising at the same time the important role played by the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity in its activities. And various activities aimed at raising awareness about the concept of biodiversity.


In turn, Professor Mazen Qumsiyeh, founder and director of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability, praised the importance of Bank of Palestine’s support for projects to protect the Palestinian environment and the sustainability of people and nature.


It is noteworthy that Bank of Palestine allocates about 5% of its annual profits to support community initiatives, in implementation of its vision of supporting the community through an effective contribution to achieving sustainable community development.
