A new carrier rocket made its maiden flight in China on Sunday, sending a satellite into its planned orbit.
The rocket, known as TL-2Y1, took off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 4:48 p.m. (Beijing Time).
The flight will check the overall program of the missile, coordination between systems, and obtain flight environment parameters.
The satellite will be used for remote sensing imaging experiments and other technical verifications.
