Statistics announces the main results of the quarterly national accounts for the fourth quarter of 2022
The Central Bureau of Statistics announced an increase in the gross domestic product at constant prices by 2% in Palestine during the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2021.
He explained, in a statement issued today, Thursday, that the past year 2022 witnessed an increase in the gross domestic product by 4% compared to the previous year.
Preliminary estimates indicated an increase in the gross domestic product at the annual level by 4% in Palestine, compared to the previous year 2021, and during the fourth quarter of 2022, the GDP increased by 3% compared to the previous quarter of the same year, as the highest rate of increase was in agriculture, forestry, and fishing. Fish by 19%, then the activity of wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles and motorcycles, construction, public administration and defense by 4% each, then the activity of financial activities and insurance activities, transportation and storage by 2% each, then the activity of information and communications by 1%.
The statistics indicated that this increase was offset by a decrease in the services activity by 2%, and the mining activity, manufacturing industry, water and electricity by 1%.
She indicated that the GDP of Palestine increased by 2% during the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2021 at constant prices, which excludes the effect of seasonality, noting that the base year is 2015. The value of GDP during the fourth quarter of 2022 at constant prices in the West Bank West Bank, $3,331 million, and $690 million in the Gaza Strip.
High per capita GDP
According to the statistics report, the per capita GDP in Palestine at constant prices amounted to $788 during the fourth quarter of 2022, recording an increase of 2% compared to the third quarter of 2022, as the per capita GDP in the West Bank at constant prices amounted to $1,143. During the fourth quarter of 2022, with an increase of 2% compared to the third quarter of 2022. In the Gaza Strip, the per capita GDP reached $315 during the fourth quarter of 2022, recording an increase of 3% compared to the third quarter of 2022.
