Doha - "Al Quds" dot com - Ismail Haniyeh , head of the political bureau of the "Hamas" movement, received today, Thursday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Middle East, Mr. Tor Wensland , and a number of his assistants in Doha.

The two sides discussed the various developments that the Palestinian issue is going through, especially in light of the formation of the extreme right-wing government in the Israeli entity and the behavior of its ministers, which target Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the Palestinian people and their statements that reflect aggressive intentions and plans that may lead to the bombing of the entire region.

The meeting also dealt with ways to achieve Palestinian national unity and end the division in order to strengthen the internal Palestinian front in facing the challenges facing our people and their national cause.

During the meeting, Haniyeh reviewed the serious challenges posed by the behavior of this government, whether with regard to Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, the recent incursion by Ben Gvir, settlement intentions and annexation plans for areas of the occupied West Bank, and the targeting of our people in the occupied territory 48 in light of the racist positions that are launched, as well as The siege of the Gaza Strip and the escalation against prisoners in prisons.

He stressed the need to confront these aggressive tendencies with a unified national rank, which requires the implementation of the understandings reached in Algeria.

Haniyeh said: "The seriousness of what is happening requires our people and their leaders to achieve unity and understanding on urgent steps to confront what is happening from the extremist government."

During the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion of the ongoing changes at the regional level and in the international scene, and the repercussions of the Ukrainian war and the conflict over the nature of the international system on various issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, the international hierarchy of priorities, and how to achieve international support for the Palestinian cause.

In addition to Haniyeh, Dr. Musa Abu Marzouk, Eng. Nizar Awadallah, Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, and Hussam Badran attended.
