Is it permissible to pay Hajj expenses in installments?

Cairo - "Jerusalem" dot com - Regarding the ruling on Hajj in installments, Dr. Shawky Allam, Mufti of Egypt: It is legally established that the ownership of the expenses of Hajj or Umrah, which is expressed in jurisprudence in terms of provisions and travel, is a condition of obligation and not a condition of validity, meaning that the person’s lack of ownership of it at the time of Hajj does not mean that the Hajj is invalid; Rather, it means that it is not obligatory for him, so if he does not perform Hajj at that time, then there is no sin on him. But if he enters ihram for Hajj, then he is obliged to complete it, and his Hajj is valid, and the obligatory argument falls from him.

The Mufti asked why the Muslim fabricates fulfilling the conditions of the Hajj. A Muslim who does not have the full expenses of Hajj will not be held accountable by God Almighty for not performing the Hajj. God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.

As for the ruling on presenting Umrah or Hajj as a prize in a competition, a grant, a reward from work, or an invitation from a person, there is nothing wrong with that, provided that all of this is done through legitimate means and in accordance with the laws in force.
