Al-Maidana led Al-Tuffah to appear in the Premier League, and maintained with a group of players the strength of the team located on the eastern borders of Gaza City, despite the difficulties it faced under the Israeli occupation, as the club’s headquarters was subjected to raids and closures several times, and succeeded in leading it to compete with the largest teams in the Strip. As well as preserving the youth entity in the densely populated Al-Tuffah neighborhood by integrating them into useful sports and youth programs in confronting what was planning for the youth generation during the eighties and nineties.


As for his beginnings, they came in the popular arenas, then with the Jaffa High School team, the most prominent outlet for football players and youth at the time, before joining Al-Shujaia Union at the age of 15, after which he moved to Al-Tuffah Club immediately after its establishment in 1979, where I became a player, then a member of the administrative body. Until his retirement in 1993, he was trained by many coaches, including the late Tawheed Murtaja and Ahmed Al-Sayed, and Ismail Al-Masry at Al-Shujaia Club, and the first coach at Al-Tuffah Club, Sami Ajour, Ibrahim Al-Qatta, Omar Abu Zaid, and Sobhi Awad.


The late Al-Maidana also worked in the field of sports media in Al-Bayader Al-Awla magazine, which distributed during the first intifada, as well as in providing media institutions with sports news, including Palestine TV later, and he contributed to the establishment of the Sports Media Union, as he holds a diploma in public relations and media, and several courses in the field of journalism.


Ibrahim Abu Salim, President of the Football Association, mourned him, and offered his condolences to his sports family. Abdul Salam Haniyeh, a member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, offered condolences to the family, so that the page of a player from the beautiful time was celebrated.
