Occupation confiscates about 500 dunams east of Tubas as part of the 'Crimson Thread' project

Israeli occupation authorities today, Monday, issued six military orders to seize 498 dunams of Palestinian citizens' lands in various areas east of Tubas Governorate, northeast of the occupied West Bank. Local sources explained that these decisions target vital lands in the towns of Tubas, Tayasir, Aqaba, Ibziq, and Raba, threatening the Palestinian presence in these border and vital areas.

The Tubas Governorate confirmed in an official statement that these escalatory steps come as part of a broader settlement project known as the 'Crimson Thread,' a plan announced by the occupation at the end of last year and began to be implemented on the ground this year. This project aims to connect settlement blocs to each other and create a new geographical reality that isolates Palestinian villages and towns from their natural surroundings.

For its part, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed dangerous technical details related to these orders, as the attached tables showed that the occupation allocated about 360,172 dunams of what it calls 'state lands' to serve this plan. This area constitutes approximately 72.3% of the total targeted lands, indicating the occupation's exploitation of military laws to legitimize control over vast areas of pastoral and agricultural lands.

These measures come in the context of a systematic policy to isolate thousands of dunams in the northern Jordan Valley, where the occupation had previously destroyed water pipelines and hundreds of agricultural dunams in the Atouf area. These continuous aggressions lead to the deterioration of the economic and living conditions of the local residents who primarily depend on agriculture and livestock farming for their daily sustenance.

These orders are an extension of the Crimson Thread project, which the occupation began implementing this year.
