For the 13th consecutive night.. American raids target military sites and infrastructure in Iran

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a new round of intensive airstrikes against military targets inside Iranian territory early Friday. These military operations are part of a continuous series of attacks for the thirteenth consecutive night, amid an unprecedented escalation between Washington and Tehran in the region.

Military sources explained that the raids began at 6:45 PM Eastern Time, targeting sites belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Official statements indicated that the purpose of this move is to undermine Tehran's ability to threaten international commercial navigation in vital waterways.

On the ground, media sources reported hearing violent explosions shaking several areas in southern and southwestern Iran, coinciding with the American announcement. These explosions were concentrated in the city of Ahvaz, where eyewitnesses reported flames rising from specific locations after hearing intense aircraft sounds.

In the strategic Strait of Hormuz region, local reports confirmed explosions in the vicinity of the village of Mesen on Qeshm Island. Sources indicated that at least two missiles targeted points near the island, which directly overlooks the most important waterway for global oil trade, raising a state of alert in the region.

The attacks also targeted the coastal city of Bandar Abbas, where a powerful explosion was heard in the western part of the city early today. Iranian authorities have not yet disclosed the exact human or material losses resulting from this new round of concentrated aerial bombardment.

This field escalation comes just two days after strong threats issued by US President Donald Trump against the Iranian leadership. Trump threatened to directly target vital infrastructure in Iran, including bridges and power generation stations, if attacks on commercial vessels continued.

Washington had accused Tehran of being behind a series of attacks using drones and missiles targeting its military bases and facilities in neighboring countries. The United States views these airstrikes as a necessary response to deter Iranian activities it describes as destabilizing the regional stability.

However, the US President announced on July 8 that the ceasefire had ended, accusing Iran of violating the agreement by targeting oil tankers.

The United States insists on the necessity of ensuring absolute freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz without any interference from Iranian forces. In contrast, Tehran rejects these pressures and insists on imposing its own regulatory mechanism for passage through the waterway, which lies within its territorial waters and southern coasts.

Reports indicate that the current confrontations could escalate into a wider conflict in the absence of any effective diplomatic communication channels between the two countries at present. International powers are watching with concern the repercussions of this escalation on global energy prices and the security of waterways in the Gulf region.
