Israeli occupation forces have escalated their field violations in the Quneitra governorate, southwestern Syria, carrying out new incursions targeting populated villages. Field sources reported that a military force consisting of six vehicles stormed the village of Al-Asbah in the southern countryside after setting off from the Tel Al-Ahmar West site. Soldiers raided and searched civilian homes and vandalized their property, causing panic among local residents.
In a related context, the Israeli movement was not limited to the southern countryside but extended to include the northern areas of the governorate through another incursion by a force comprising three military vehicles. This force was observed stopping briefly at the Al-Halabi village company before continuing its movement towards Al-Mushairifa village, a step that reflects the occupation's determination to expand its field presence and cross internationally recognized border lines.
Israeli aggressions also included artillery shelling targeting the vicinity of Tel Al-Ahmar East and agricultural lands located north of the Breiqa Dam in the southern Quneitra countryside. This shelling, which occurred last Tuesday evening, is part of a series of targeting operations aimed at intimidating farmers and preventing them from accessing their lands, exacerbating the difficult living conditions for residents of the border area.
Regarding geographical changes, media sources confirmed that bulldozers belonging to the occupation army carried out extensive bulldozing and expansion operations in the areas south of Breiqa village. These operations are accompanied by strict security restrictions that prevent shepherds and farmers from carrying out their daily work, which observers see as an attempt to impose a new geographical and military reality that transcends previous border understandings.
Since the major political transformations witnessed by Syria in December 2024, the border region has recorded repeated violations of the disengagement agreement signed in 1974. These violations varied between setting up temporary military checkpoints, carrying out raids and arrests targeting civilians, including children and sheep herders, in addition to the continued bulldozing of lands and annexation of new areas under flimsy security pretexts.
Despite the absence of any military threats from the new Syrian administration towards the occupation, Israeli aircraft continued to launch air raids on various sites deep inside Syria. These attacks resulted in civilian casualties, in addition to the destruction of military installations, vehicles, and ammunition belonging to the army, indicating an Israeli strategy aimed at weakening Syrian defensive capabilities during the transitional phase.
Occupation forces infiltrated Al-Asbah village, searched civilian homes, and broke down their doors, causing panic among the residents.
