The Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived at a military base in the state of New York after being arrested by American forces in Caracas, while American media spoke of preparations to conduct an investigation with him.
Live footage showed the Venezuelan President surrounded by elements from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as he descended on Saturday evening local time from a US government plane at this base belonging to the National Guard.
It quoted sources as saying that Maduro will be transferred by helicopter to a site in New York City where he will be investigated.
The sources clarified that he will ultimately be transferred to the urban detention center in the Brooklyn area of New York City.
