The death of a child from Jabalia under the tracks of an Israeli tank amid shock and anger

In a horrific crime reflecting the bitter reality in the Gaza Strip, the child Zaher Nasser Shamia, 16 years old, from the Jabalia camp in the northern Strip, was martyred after the Israeli occupation soldiers shot him and then an Israeli tank ran him over.

According to eyewitnesses, the occupation forces shot the child Zaher, causing him to fall to the ground bleeding, and no one was able to approach him to save him due to the continued shooting.

The witnesses confirmed that the occupation forces prevented ambulance crews from reaching the injured child, causing him to bleed to death, after which an Israeli tank advanced and deliberately ran him over, leading to his immediate martyrdom.

This crime comes amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement that began implementation on October 10th.

This incident caused great shock among the residents of the Strip, amid the screams of women and the desperate attempts of young men to approach the place, in a scene that reflects the magnitude of the tragedy that the Palestinians are experiencing.

Pictures of the child Zaher spread widely across social media, sparking a wave of anger and condemnation, as activists questioned the motive behind this heinous crime.

This incident brought back to mind the fate of the children of Gaza who live in constant danger, amid increasing warnings of targeting them, and confirmation that there are no red lines in dealing with civilians.

Users circulated pictures of the child and his memories, and his friends published touching words to bid him farewell, confirming that he dreamed of becoming a football player, and was helping his family provide bread.

Activists described what happened as a fully integrated crime, starting with the shooting, then preventing access to the injured, and ending with being run over under the tank tracks.

Some saw that this crime opens a new chapter of suffering for the displaced people in Gaza, in light of the repeated violations of the ceasefire and the transformation of the border areas into dangerous areas for civilians.

Many tweeters considered that the child's martyrdom in this horrific way represents an unprecedented level of Israeli violence against children in Gaza, and confirms that civilians live under constant threat.

Bloggers pointed out that the killing of Zaher Shamia is not just an individual incident, but rather part of a long series of violations against childhood in Gaza, which calls for the establishment of international mechanisms to protect civilians.

Bloggers called on the international community to take immediate action to stop these crimes, and not to be satisfied with media condemnations, stressing that the incident is conclusive evidence of the brutality experienced by the residents of the Strip.
