Israeli Escalation: Airstrikes and Artillery Bombardment Target Areas South and East of Gaza

Correspondents and eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army launched a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling on various areas south and east of the Gaza Strip.

In the west of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, the army carried out violent airstrikes, while artillery targeted areas east of the city with shells, according to eyewitnesses.

In Khan Yunis city, Israeli warships opened fire in the open sea, causing panic among the displaced people in the area.

Eyewitnesses also reported that Israeli army forces carried out demolition operations inside the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, amid intensive flights of drones in the area's sky.

These developments come amid the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel, but the latter continues to violate the agreement by targeting Palestinians outside the areas to which it withdrew under the agreement, resulting in deaths and injuries.

The agreement was supposed to end a genocide that Tel Aviv began on October 8, 2023.

This genocide resulted in the martyrdom of more than 70,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 171,000, most of whom are children and women, in addition to massive destruction that the United Nations estimates will cost about $70 billion to rebuild.
