Occupation Chief of Staff: The dividing line with Gaza is a "new border"

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Eyal Zamir, stated that the yellow line that separates the areas under the control of the Hamas movement from the areas controlled by Israel represents the "new border" between Israel and the Gaza Strip, and stressed the need to prepare for a surprise war scenario.

Zamir described the yellow line as a "front defense line for settlements and an attack line" during a field tour in the Gaza Strip, in a clear message to the Israeli government, although US President Donald Trump's plan requires Israel to withdraw from this line in the second phase, in exchange for deploying an international force to achieve stability.

Zamir visited the areas of Beit Hanoun and Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, accompanied by the commander of the Southern Region, Major General Yaniv Asur, and other military leaders.

Zamir affirmed that the occupation army "will not allow Hamas to re-establish itself," stressing that they "control large parts of the territory of the Strip and stand on the dominant control lines."

Speaking to the occupation soldiers, Zamir added: "We are working to thwart and remove threats on all fronts. We will not tolerate any threat to our forces, and we will respond forcefully to any attempt. We have complete freedom of action, whether here in the Southern Command or on all fronts."

Zamir called for vigilance and readiness on all fronts, saying: "We must prepare for a surprise war scenario, and this is one of the pillars of the next plan," as he stressed the importance of strengthening the reserve forces through new laws, to alleviate the burden on soldiers and enhance the efficiency of the army.

Meanwhile, the occupation army announced that the Navy had begun a week-long maneuver with the forces of the US Fifth Fleet, and Zamir revealed that the annual maneuvers would simulate the possibility of a surprise war.
