Escalating Settler Attacks: Palestinian Infant Dies from Gas Inhalation in Nablus

A Palestinian infant died in the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank as a result of inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli occupation soldiers during clashes that erupted in the area. This tragic incident comes amid a marked increase in the pace and intensity of settler attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.

Palestinian medical sources reported that the infant, who was only a few months old, arrived at the hospital in critical condition as a result of inhaling a large amount of gas, and despite the doctors' efforts to save him, he died as a result of his injury. This incident has sparked widespread anger and condemnation in Palestinian circles, where it was considered a heinous crime added to the series of crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people.

The West Bank is witnessing a marked increase in settler violence, who are almost daily attacking Palestinian villages and towns, burning homes and vehicles, and vandalizing agricultural property, under the protection of the occupation forces. Palestinian and international human rights organizations have documented hundreds of cases of these attacks in recent months, noting that these attacks aim to terrorize Palestinians and displace them from their lands.

The Palestinian Authority held the Israeli government fully responsible for this crime and called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop settler attacks and provide protection for the Palestinian people. It also called for holding those responsible for these crimes accountable and bringing them to justice.

For their part, the Palestinian resistance factions condemned this crime, considering it new evidence of the brutality of the occupation and its continuous terrorism against the Palestinian people. They affirmed that these crimes will only increase the Palestinian people's determination to continue the struggle and resistance until their national goals are achieved.

These developments come amid escalating tension in the West Bank, where the occupation forces are carrying out almost daily arrest and raid campaigns, and imposing strict restrictions on the movement of Palestinians, which increases the state of anger and resentment in the Palestinian street.
