The Israeli army distributed demolition notices for Palestinian facilities, including a mosque, residences, and agricultural structures in the Masafer Yatta area south of the city of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, on Wednesday evening.
Osama Makhamra, an activist monitoring Israeli violations, stated in an informational briefing for journalists that "the notices were distributed in the villages of Jinba and Al-Halawah, affecting a mosque, a park, three residences, three residential tents, and five barns used for livestock, in addition to several health units."
In a related context, Makhamra pointed out that settlers stormed the Wadi Al-Rakhim area, west of the village of Susiya, in Masafer Yatta (a group of 28 villages and ruins), and wrote racist slogans on one of the houses.
The West Bank is witnessing a wide escalation in assaults coinciding with the genocide in Gaza, as attacks by the army and settlers have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,076 Palestinians and injuries to about 10,760 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 20,500 citizens since the start of the war, according to data from the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
According to the commission, Israel carried out 1,014 demolition operations in the West Bank and Jerusalem during the years of genocide, affecting 3,679 facilities, including 1,288 inhabited houses and 244 uninhabited houses, and distributed 1,667 demolition notices for Palestinian houses and facilities.
The Israeli genocide, which began on October 8, 2023, and lasted for two years, ended with a ceasefire agreement, having resulted in more than 69,000 deaths and over 170,000 injuries, most of whom are women and children, while the United Nations estimated the cost of reconstruction at about $70 billion.
The notices were distributed in the villages of Jinba and Al-Halawah, affecting a mosque, a park, and three residences.
