At least 29 Palestinian citizens have been killed, including children and displaced persons, and dozens have been injured in a series of violent airstrikes launched by the Israeli occupation army on various areas of the Gaza Strip since dawn on Wednesday, with the heaviest bombardment focused on Gaza City.
Medical sources in the Strip's hospitals reported that the death toll is expected to rise amid the ongoing shelling and the difficulty of rescue teams reaching many of the targeted locations.
The airstrike targeted a gathering of displaced persons in the center of Gaza City, where a source at the Baptist hospital reported the arrival of 17 martyrs, including children, and several injured due to this bombardment.
In Gaza City as well, which alone received 24 martyrs, a source at Al-Shifa Hospital reported the martyrdom of 5 citizens in a strike on the Sabra neighborhood, and the martyrdom of two others in an airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in the Yarmouk area.
In central Gaza, the civil defense announced the recovery of 4 dead and several injured individuals from under the rubble of a house that was hit by an Israeli airstrike in the Nuseirat camp.
