Ben Gvir: If I were Prime Minister, I would arrest Abu Mazen right now.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that if he were Prime Minister, he would immediately arrest Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

Ben Gvir was speaking to "Israel 24" on Sunday evening, in response to the earlier recognition by Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal of the State of Palestine.

The leader of the far-right "Jewish Power" party stated: "We are doing nothing to the Palestinian Authority, and they are doing whatever they want."

In response to a question about what should be done, he answered: "We should dismantle the Authority, and if I were Prime Minister, I would issue an order to arrest Abu Mazen right now, as he is waging international terrorism against us."

Israel claims that international recognitions of the State of Palestine and Palestinian moves towards the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, and the United Nations represent "international terrorism."
