Today marks the start of the "High-Level International Conference on Resolving the Palestinian Issue and Implementing the Two-State Solution," in what is the most significant diplomatic step in decades.
The conference, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, comes amid a historic wave of Western recognitions of the State of Palestine, and in direct challenge to the United States, which has refused to grant entry visas to the Palestinian delegation.
The conference is set to open with speeches from senior leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas.
The conference represents the most significant diplomatic step in decades.
