The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres affirmed his support for a two-state solution and the need for immediate measures to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
This came during his meeting with the Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming, where he noted that peace and security would be the main topics of discussion at the high-level United Nations meetings scheduled for next week.
Guterres called on world leaders to work towards changing the course and enhancing cooperation to face common challenges, emphasizing that the suffering in Gaza has reached an indescribable level of famine and the collapse of health services.
The ongoing massacre in Gaza must end; we need an immediate ceasefire.
