The President of the European Commission proposes imposing sanctions on extremist ministers in the occupying government.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced today, Wednesday, that she has proposed to the European Council to impose sanctions on extremist ministers in the Israeli occupation government and violent settlers.

The Commission also decided to suspend its bilateral support for Israel, a step that comes after reviewing Israel's compliance with Article Two of the agreement, where it concluded that the actions of the Israeli occupation government constitute a violation of fundamental elements related to respecting human rights and democratic principles.

It reported that this violation specifically indicates the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza following the Israeli military intervention, the blockade of humanitarian aid, and the intensification of military operations.
