Doha hosted an emergency Arab-Islamic summit on Monday to discuss the Israeli aggression that targeted Qatar's sovereignty on September 9. The summit, which saw high-level participation, was held against the backdrop of a serious escalation in the region, following Israel's continued violation of all international norms and laws by waging a war of extermination on the Gaza Strip for two years, in addition to targeting the negotiating delegation of Hamas in Doha.
The summit witnessed notable attendance from prominent leaders, including Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Egypt's Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Syria's Ahmad al-Shara, Palestine's Mahmoud Abbas, Jordan's King Abdullah II, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad. Absent from the summit were the presidents of the UAE Mohammed bin Zayed, Tunisia Kais Saied, Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the kings of Morocco Mohammed VI and Bahrain Hamad bin Isa, in addition to Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
The speeches of the participating leaders at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit, which included leaders and officials from 57 countries, were marked by strong statements. The Emir of Qatar, in his opening speech, stated that 'the Prime Minister of Israel (Benjamin Netanyahu) dreams of making the region an Israeli sphere of influence, and this is a great illusion,' calling for 'concrete measures against Israel.'
Absolute solidarity with the State of Qatar against this aggression, which represents an aggression against all Arab and Islamic countries.
