Sources reported that 7 children died on Monday at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, as famine and malnutrition intensified, compounded by a lack of medical care and services due to the ongoing Israeli blockade.
The sources confirmed that 4 fetuses lost their lives in their mothers' wombs due to abortion, and 3 other premature infants died in incubators, as a result of the malnutrition, severe fear, and continuous stress their mothers experienced, in addition to the exhaustion and fatigue caused by displacement and forced migration due to the bombardment and the Israeli war on the region.
On another note, the Ministry of Health in Gaza warned of an unprecedented acute shortage of essential and urgent medical supplies and materials within the hospitals in the region, calling on international organizations for urgent intervention to stop the bleeding of death on the operating tables and among the sick.
The ministry stated in a statement on Monday that patients and injured individuals in Gaza are trapped within the triangle of terror: 'hunger, bombardment, and deprivation of treatment,' noting that the current situation regarding essential medicines and medical supplies has surpassed crisis levels to catastrophic levels.
It emphasized that medical teams in hospitals cannot continue to work with depleted stocks of essential medicines and medical supplies, warning that the Ministry of Health is on the verge of collapse in terms of urgent and life-saving medical needs.
It mentioned that 'many patients and injured individuals are facing critical moments with unpredictable outcomes,' urging all relevant parties to exert their full humanitarian influence to ensure the entry and management of emergency medical supplies to hospitals.
