The West Bank.. Injuries among Palestinians in attacks by Israeli settlers

A number of Palestinians were injured on Saturday evening in attacks carried out by Zionist settlers in the occupied West Bank, according to eyewitnesses and government media.

In Masafer Yatta in the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank, settlers assaulted Palestinians after invading their residential areas in two small gatherings.

Osama Makhamra, an activist monitoring violations by the Israeli army and settlers, stated that "a number of settlers invaded Khirbat al-Rakeez (a small residential gathering) and the area of Shaab al-Tawana in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron city."

He added in an audio recording that "settlers released their sheep among the homes of citizens in the Rakeez gathering and assaulted the elderly Saeed al-Amour, resulting in an injury to his back, and he was subsequently taken to the hospital."

The Palestinian activist noted the "destruction of the elderly al-Amour's crutch, which he uses after losing one of his legs due to a previous injury from settlers' gunfire."

He also confirmed that a woman from the same gathering was injured and taken to the hospital, in addition to several injuries with bruises and contusions that were treated on-site.

Makhamra mentioned that settlers invaded the homes and caves of Palestinians and conducted searches, while the Israeli army arrested a number of citizens.

In central Hebron, the Israeli army deployed its forces and restricted the movement of Palestinian residents, coinciding with a weekly march attended by dozens of settlers.

In northern West Bank, Palestine TV reported that settlers burned agricultural lands in the town of Deir Sharaf west of Nablus city.

The official Palestinian news agency reported that a group of settlers invaded the outskirts of the towns of Sinjil and Umm Safa northeast and northwest of Ramallah city.

According to data from the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 431 attacks against Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank during August.

Alongside the genocide war on Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,020 Palestinians.
