Suspension of a prominent British doctor after her solidarity with Gaza and the resistance

The British National Health Service has suspended a prominent doctor after she expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli genocide and affirmed that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is a resistance movement and not a terrorist organization as claimed by the occupation.

According to the British Telegraph newspaper, on Saturday, Whittington Hospital in North London confirmed that pediatric consultant Dr. Eileen Krystals "is currently undergoing an internal investigation" and has no scheduled working hours at this time.

A source from the hospital management affiliated with the National Health Service confirmed that Dr. Krystals has been suspended from work.

The newspaper reported that Krystals posted a series of messages on social media alleged to be "anti-Semitic," which are statements criticizing Israel and its actions against the Palestinian people.

In one of the posts, the British doctor states that Hamas fighters are "wronged resistors and not terrorists."

The Telegraph noted that the hospital management was alerted to those posts after Krystals participated in a demonstration in London on September 6 of this year, demanding an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

This suspension of the prominent doctor comes amid actions taking place in Britain against those who show solidarity with Palestine, where police have arrested hundreds of demonstrators condemning the Israeli genocide during protests in London over the past weeks and have prosecuted dozens of them on charges of supporting the "Action for Palestine" movement, which the government has banned and classified as a terrorist organization.

Human rights organizations condemned these actions, describing them as a violation of the law and a threat to freedom of expression.

Since October 2023, Israel - with American support - has been waging a genocide against the residents of the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls to stop the war and orders from the International Court of Justice in this regard.

The genocide has resulted in more than 64,000 martyrs and 164,000 injured, with 420 Palestinians, including 145 children, having died due to starvation, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
