Osama Hamdan: The assassination attempt in Doha is a direct attack on Trump's initiative.

The leader of Hamas, Osama Hamdan, stated that the Israeli occupation's attempt to assassinate the movement's negotiating delegation in Doha is a "direct gunfire" at President Donald Trump's paper aimed at reaching a ceasefire.

He added in a television interview that "the attempt to assassinate the delegation is direct gunfire at President Trump's paper, so if the Israelis accept it, they should listen to Hamas's response instead of retaliating by bombing Doha and the meeting venue."

Hamdan pointed out that the Israeli position since it refused to respond to the mediators' paper on August 18 was clear in that it was a coup against the negotiation process, aimed at reaching a settlement that stops the aggression on Gaza and leads to the release of prisoners.

He continued, "We are waiting to see what the efforts and communications made by Qatar and Egypt will yield, to see if there are American intentions to pressure Israel for a final ceasefire."

Hamdan also noted that "the diplomatic efforts made by Egypt and Qatar at various stages were close to achieving a breakthrough, but the occupation government was obstructing them either through assassinations or new aggression in Gaza, the latest being the attack on Doha."

He went on to say, "Nevertheless, Qatar and Egypt have demonstrated a high capacity to absorb the shocks of the occupation and move forward, because what is required is to stop the aggression and put an end to the rogue entity that is tampering with the security of the region."

Hamdan stated that "the efforts made by the Qatari Prime Minister (Mohammed bin Abdulrahman) in Washington are important, and we hope the Americans will respond to them."

Last Tuesday, the occupation targeted a residential headquarters for Hamas leaders, resulting in their survival, while martyring Hamam, the son of prominent leader Khalil al-Hayya, and his office manager Jihad Labed, along with three companions, in addition to a Qatari security personnel.

Qatar condemned the Israeli attack, describing it as "state terrorism," affirming its right to respond to this aggression that resulted in the death of a member of the internal security forces.

The attack on Qatar came despite its role as a mediator alongside Egypt, with American participation, in indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, aimed at reaching an agreement for prisoner exchange and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The occupying state estimates that there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while more than 10,800 Palestinians are imprisoned, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, with many of them having died.

Repeatedly, Hamas has confirmed its readiness to release Israeli prisoners "all at once," in exchange for ending the genocide, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners, but Netanyahu, wanted by international justice, evades this by insisting on the continued occupation of Gaza.

The Israeli genocide has left 64,756 martyrs and 164,059 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine has claimed the lives of 413 Palestinians, including 143 children, up until Friday.
