Sources in Gaza hospitals reported the death of 13 Palestinians due to the fire of the occupation forces since dawn today, Thursday, including 11 in the city of Gaza. A series of violent attacks have been launched since dawn, focusing on the city of Gaza, which they seek to occupy and displace Palestinians from.
Palestinians held a funeral this morning for the bodies of martyrs from the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the city, while a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital stated that two Palestinians were martyred, one of whom was a child, and others were injured as a result of targeting a tent sheltering displaced persons from the Abu Harbid family in the Yarmouk area in the center of Gaza City.
Several Palestinians were also injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted the home of the Al-Shawa family near the Al-Shuhada intersection in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in the center of Gaza City.
The Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent airstrikes on the tunnel street extending from the center of Gaza City towards its northeastern areas, coinciding with intense artillery shelling that hit areas east of the Sheikh Radwan pool, in addition to the dropping of illumination bombs over most parts of the city.
In the central Gaza Strip, a Palestinian child was martyred due to the Israeli army's random gunfire on citizens' homes in the Al-Bureij camp.
In the city of Deir al-Balah, several Palestinians were injured due to targeting by an Israeli drone on a house next to Khadija Al-Bassa School.
In this context, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the registration of 5 deaths due to famine and malnutrition, including a child, in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of malnutrition deaths to 404 martyrs, including 141 children.
Human rights concerns have been expressed by the humanitarian working group in the occupied Palestinian territories - which includes UN agencies and more than 200 international and local NGOs - regarding the serious escalation in the city of Gaza. They stated in a statement that the Israeli army has intensified its operations and ordered everyone to evacuate southward.
The humanitarian team added that despite Israel declaring a "humanitarian zone" in the south, it has not provided safety guarantees or sufficient services to accommodate the displaced.
They confirmed that nearly one million people are now without safe or viable options, as neither the north nor the south of the Gaza Strip offers safety, as stated in the team's statement.
The statement noted that leaving northern Gaza means incurring exorbitant transportation costs and securing safe passage, amounts that most families cannot afford.
It clarified that leaving northern Gaza means continuing the suffering in securing food, water, medical care, and shelter, at a time when the exhausted residents of Gaza have reached the limits of their capacities.
The humanitarian team warned in its statement that amid the ongoing Israeli obstacles, the current level of humanitarian response in Gaza remains entirely insufficient.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 64,656 dead and 163,503 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has claimed the lives of 404 Palestinians, including 141 children.
The humanitarian working group expresses its deep concern over the serious escalation in Gaza.
