Israeli media: The American proposal to release prisoners faces Hamas's rejection due to the absence of a ceasefire.

Israeli Channel 12 published a new American proposal to end the war in the Gaza Strip, which involves the release of all prisoners on the first day; however, the feasibility of such an agreement remains slim, as it does not include a ceasefire, which is a red line for Hamas.

Meanwhile, the newspaper "Maariv" reported that Trump is deeply engaged in the ongoing war in Gaza, issuing repeated statements about what he describes as progress in the prisoner deal, continuously emphasizing the importance of ending the fighting in the sector.

Channel 12 reported on Sunday that Trump has presented a new proposal to Hamas in recent days, which includes the release of all hostages, whether alive or dead, on the first day, in exchange for the release of a large number of Palestinian prisoners, along with a commitment to start negotiations to end the fighting.

The channel indicates that the continuation of these negotiations also means the continuation of the ceasefire, with Trump himself leading this process.

The channel added that among what it described as "incentives" received by Hamas is the cessation of the "Gideon 2" operation and the presence of Israeli occupation forces outside the city of Gaza.

The channel clarified that the possibility of reaching an agreement remains weak, as Hamas has not shown any willingness at any stage to accept any proposal that does not include a ceasefire and the release of all hostages, which casts significant doubt on the success of the plan.

The Israeli government responded to the channel's report by stating that it is "seriously considering President Trump's proposal," adding that "Hamas is likely to continue its refusal."

The headquarters of the families of the prisoners issued a statement following the American proposal, saying: "If the proposal attributed to the President of the United States is indeed put forward, this represents an opportunity for a real breakthrough, as President Trump has proposed a comprehensive agreement that allows for the immediate release of all forty-eight hostages and their captors, and a cessation of the war throughout the negotiation period."

The statement added that "the personal guarantee of the President of the United States is an unprecedented historic step. This agreement enhances a broad regional settlement, will lead to the release of all kidnapped individuals, and will allow soldiers and reservists to return to their homes, restoring their families and normal lives.

Moreover, the agreement paves the way for the security of the Israeli occupation and ends a fierce war that has lasted nearly two years."

The headquarters called in its statement on the Israeli occupation government to declare its absolute support for the ongoing agreement and to provide full support to President Trump until all hostages return to their settlements, whether alive for rehabilitation or dead for proper burial in the occupied territories.

In the same context, Benny Gantz, the head of the "Blue and White" party, commented on Trump's proposal, saying: "The Israeli response to President Trump's published plan should be a clear and unequivocal yes."

Gantz again called on his colleagues in the opposition to announce their provision of all necessary political support, including joining a government to free the prisoners for a limited period if necessary, stressing that "another opportunity should not be missed."

With American support, the occupation army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop it.

The genocide has resulted in the martyrdom of 64,455 Palestinians, and the injury of 162,776 others, the majority of whom are children and women, with more than 9,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced. Famine has caused the deaths of 387 people, including 138 children.
