The office of the occupying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a sharp statement on Friday evening, accusing the Egyptian Foreign Ministry of "preferring to imprison the residents of Gaza" who wish to leave the enclave.
This direct response comes just hours after Egypt announced its absolute rejection of displacement plans, considering them a "red line," in an attempt by Netanyahu's office to reframe calls for displacement as a defense of "human rights."
Netanyahu's office claimed in its statement that "the Egyptian Foreign Ministry prefers to imprison the residents of Gaza who wish to leave the war zone against their will."
Egypt will never be a partner in liquidating the Palestinian cause.
