Qatar: Communications to Resume Gaza Negotiations with a Different Model

The spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majid Al-Ansari, stated on Tuesday that there are communications being conducted by mediators to return to indirect negotiations between the occupation and Hamas for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, noting the existence of a 'different model.'

This was mentioned by Al-Ansari during the weekly press conference in the Qatari capital, Doha. Al-Ansari said: 'There are communications to try to stop the operations (Israeli genocide in Gaza) and return to negotiations, but there is nothing new, and the occupying state has not responded to the ceasefire proposal so far.'

In response to a question about the existence of discussions for a comprehensive deal, the Qatari official replied: 'There are communications being made to reach a different model, and I will not go into details, but we are open to all ideas.' He added: 'However, at the moment, the proposal on the table is the one that Hamas has agreed to, but unofficially there is an exchange of ideas, and we are exploring what can be achieved.'

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson considered the occupation's hint at annexing the occupied West Bank as 'a threat and blackmail and a lack of desire for peace.'
