Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reaffirmed that the top priority is an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of the State of Palestine taking full responsibility for managing the sector with international support.
These statements came during a phone call he received from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who in turn confirmed his country's commitment to supporting the two-state solution.
During the call, President Abbas clearly outlined the priorities of the Palestinian side, chief among them being the "immediate ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip, which has been under aggression for nearly 23 months.
