Israeli analysts have described Benjamin Netanyahu's government as a real threat to Israel's future. In discussions held on Israeli channels, it was noted that there is a conflict between the political level, which seeks to continue the war, and the military level, which prefers to move towards accepting a deal with the Palestinian resistance.
Former Israeli National Security Council head, Eyal Hulata, expressed his concern over Netanyahu's escalation of the fighting in Gaza, pointing out that this could hinder the possibility of reaching understandings for the release of hostages. He emphasized that he does not understand the goal of the current military operation, noting that Hamas will not surrender easily.
Yair Golan, head of the "Democrats" party and former deputy chief of staff, added that the military operation in Gaza is pointless from a military perspective, stressing the need to release prisoners and end the war as soon as possible. He also called for the establishment of an alternative governing body to Hamas in the sector.
Matanyahu Pnini, deputy defense minister and former deputy chief of staff, considered that the real danger to Israel is Netanyahu's government, pointing out that its officials are among the most extreme in the history of the occupying state, and represent only a tiny fraction of the Israeli population.
The military affairs correspondent for Channel 12, Yaron Abraham, noted that there is concern within the security agencies about the length of negotiations regarding "the day after" the aggression ends, as the political level has been warned about this matter.
Security leaders feel that Netanyahu and Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, are imposing isolation on them, which has been expressed in closed discussions. This situation reflects a lack of trust between the political and military levels.
In a related context, Ruby Hain, the father of one of the Israeli captives in Gaza, criticized the Israeli government for not bothering to discuss Hamas's response to the proposed suggestions, reflecting a state of chaos and lack of coordination in dealing with the crisis.
Netanyahu seeks to escalate and intensify the fighting in Gaza, which will harm the ability to reach understandings.
