The President of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, confirmed during an emergency session that the Palestinian issue is Turkey's issue, pointing out that the occupation's decision to expand its occupation in Gaza means the continued commission of crimes against humanity. He emphasized the necessity of taking concrete steps to suspend the occupation's membership in the United Nations.
Kurtulmuş clarified that all actions taken by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories are considered violations of international law, and he regarded them as war crimes and genocide. This came in the context of discussing the genocide being committed by Israel against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Kurtulmuş noted that the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament has adopted several joint declarations regarding the crimes committed by Israel, affirming Ankara's ongoing support for the Palestinian struggle until the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state.
Kurtulmuş highlighted the escalation of the occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people and its use of famine as a weapon, warning against attempts to fully annex Gaza. He confirmed that the occupation's policies have exceeded the limits of genocide in recent years.
Kurtulmuş mentioned the recent incidents that witnessed the martyrdom of patients, healthcare workers, and journalists in the attack on Nasser Hospital, reflecting the brutality of the occupation before the eyes of the world.
Kurtulmuş called on the Israeli government to accept a ceasefire and withdraw all its forces from the sector, emphasizing the necessity of reconstructing Gaza based on international humanitarian aid plans.
He reported that the brutality of the occupation is not limited to Gaza alone but includes the escalation of violence against Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank, accelerating the occupation of lands and the construction of illegal settlements.
Kurtulmuş concluded by affirming that every Israeli action in the occupied Palestinian territories is a clear violation of international law, calling on the international community to take immediate action to stop these crimes.
Every action taken by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories is a violation of international law and a war crime and genocide.
