The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called for an immediate halt to attacks on healthcare facilities in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and medical personnel.
In a post on the platform 'X', Ghebreyesus noted that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening, as the population faces repeated attacks that affect their ability to access necessary healthcare.
This call comes after Israeli occupation forces bombed the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, resulting in the martyrdom of 20 citizens, including five journalists, highlighting the severity of the situation in the region.
The international organization confirmed that attacks on health facilities constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian laws, and the international community must intervene to protect civilians.
Concerns are growing over the deteriorating health conditions in Gaza, where the population suffers from severe shortages of food and medicine, necessitating urgent action from the relevant authorities.
As the people of Gaza suffer from hunger, their already limited access to healthcare is further restricted due to repeated attacks.
