Israeli settlers opened fire on the outskirts of the town of Sinjl, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, on Monday evening, targeting the local Palestinian protection committees, without any injuries or damage reported. This incident comes at a time when assaults against Palestinians are increasing in various areas.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the local protection committees in the town of Sinjl monitored gatherings of dozens of settlers on the lands of the town of Al-Mazra'a Al-Sharqiya, where the settlers fired randomly at citizens in the protection committees, reflecting the rising tension in the area.
A report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicated that settlers carried out 466 assaults in the West Bank during July, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 Palestinians and the forced displacement of two Bedouin communities consisting of 50 families. These figures reflect the extent of the assaults faced by Palestinians.
In a related context, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their assaults in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, where they killed at least 1,016 Palestinians and injured about 7,000 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 18,500 Palestinians. These figures reflect the catastrophic situation that Palestinians are experiencing under occupation.
Since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the occupying state has committed mass atrocities against Palestinians, resulting in more than 62,000 martyrs and 158,000 injured, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention to stop these violations.
Israeli assaults on Palestinians continue amid international silence, raising questions about the role of the international community in protecting human rights in the occupied territories. The situation requires urgent action from international organizations to end these violations.
