Five Palestinian citizens were killed today, Sunday, and others were injured as a result of shelling and gunfire by Israeli occupation forces in several areas of the Gaza Strip. This aggression comes at a time when Israeli violations against Palestinian civilians are increasing.
According to ambulance and emergency teams, one citizen was martyred and others were injured while waiting for aid near a distribution center north of Rafah city, reflecting the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave.
A medical source at Al-Awda Hospital reported that three citizens were martyred and others were injured by the occupation forces' gunfire while waiting for aid near the Netzarim junction in the center of the Gaza Strip, indicating the deliberate targeting of civilians by the occupation.
In another incident, a female citizen was killed due to shelling by the occupation that targeted a school in the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, where students and teachers were present, highlighting the danger to education in the enclave.
At the same time, the occupation's warplanes carried out an airstrike near Al-Shafi'i Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood, resulting in the destruction of parts of the mosque and injuring several citizens who were nearby.
Local sources reported that the occupation's artillery shelled several areas east of Gaza City, coinciding with the demolition of residential buildings in the southern part of the city, leading to the destruction of homes and the displacement of their residents.
This escalation comes amid the ongoing siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, which exacerbates the suffering of citizens and complicates humanitarian relief efforts.
