France condemns Israel's demolition of a school under construction in the West Bank.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the demolition by Israeli authorities of a school under construction in the occupied West Bank, which was carried out in early August. The school was funded by the French Development Agency in cooperation with the European Union.

The school was expected to host around 100 Palestinian children, reflecting the importance of the project in supporting education in the region. The French Foreign Ministry held the Israeli authorities responsible for this demolition, noting that it constitutes a violation of the rights of Palestinian children.

It is worth mentioning that this school is the second funded by the French Development Agency to be demolished by the occupation, following the demolition of a school supported by the French Foreign Ministry in East Jerusalem. This raises concerns about the continuity of education in the occupied territories.

On August 5, the Director of Education in the city of Tubas, Azmi Blawna, reported that occupation forces stormed the village of Al-Aqaba accompanied by bulldozers and began demolishing the school funded by the French agency. This incursion reflects an escalation in the occupation's policy towards educational facilities.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Israeli authorities carried out 75 demolition operations in July, affecting 122 facilities, including 60 inhabited homes and 11 uninhabited ones, in addition to 22 agricultural facilities and 26 sources of livelihood.

In the first half of this year, the Israeli army demolished 588 facilities, resulting in the displacement of 843 citizens, including 411 children. Additionally, 556 facilities were notified of impending demolition, highlighting the scale of assaults on Palestinian property.

These policies are considered part of a colonial strategy aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence in the West Bank, threatening the possibility of achieving a two-state solution.
