The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian martyrs who have been killed by Israeli settlers since the beginning of 2025 has reached 10 martyrs. This announcement came following the martyrdom of the young man Thameen Khalil Reda Dawabsha (35 years old) who was shot by settlers in the town of Duma, located south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
In its statement, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as the 'execution crime' of Dawabsha, indicating that this crime was premeditated and intentional. The ministry emphasized the seriousness of the escalation in settler terrorism and their crimes, noting that the intensity of assaults using live ammunition aimed at killing Palestinians has increased.
The Foreign Ministry also added that it is monitoring the crimes of genocide, displacement, annexation, and settler terrorism with countries and components of the United Nations and its specialized councils. It called for the imposition of deterrent international sanctions on the occupying state to compel it to stop the assaults of its settlers.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Dawabsha was martyred by settlers' gunfire, while eyewitnesses reported clashes between citizens and settlers who attacked the outskirts of the town and opened fire. These assaults are not new, as Duma and other Palestinian towns are subjected to repeated attacks by settlers.
Last July, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 466 assaults by settlers, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 Palestinians and the forcible displacement of two Bedouin communities comprising 50 families. Palestinians say that the occupation army and settlers are intensifying their crimes that pave the way for the annexation of the occupied West Bank.
Since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinian martyrs killed by the occupation army and settlers has risen to at least 1,014 martyrs, in addition to about 7,000 injured and 18,500 detained. The occupying state continues to commit genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip, ignoring international calls.
The Israeli genocide in Gaza has led to the martyrdom of 61,722 Palestinians, and 154,525 injured, including children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced. These conditions reflect the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestine and its refusal to withdraw, complicating the humanitarian and political situation further.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the 'execution crime' of Dawabsha, considering it a fully constituted crime.
