Maduro: The United Nations is powerless to stop Israel's massacres in Gaza.

The Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, stated that the United Nations is unable to stop the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, pointing out that the international organization has suffered a fatal wound. This came during a television interview, where Maduro confirmed that the Palestinian people are facing massacres and genocide at the hands of the occupation.

Maduro added that the bombs and missiles launched by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fall on the desk of UN Secretary-General António Guterres, reflecting the international community's inability to protect the Palestinians. He noted that the International Court of Justice is also powerless in the face of these massacres.

In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli starvation since October 7, 2023, has risen to 227 Palestinians, including 103 children, after the death of 5 individuals, including two children, within 24 hours. These figures reflect the catastrophic situation that Palestinians in the sector are experiencing.

Maduro also pointed out that the occupation has assassinated 6 journalists, including 4 from Al Jazeera, by bombing their tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, which increases the suffering of journalists working in dangerous conditions. With the assassination of these journalists, the number of media personnel killed by Israel since the beginning of the genocide has risen to 238.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop these violations. This genocide has resulted in 61,599 dead and 154,088 injured Palestinians, in addition to more than 9,000 missing.

The numbers are increasing alarmingly, as hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals are suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions, amid a famine threatening the lives of many, including dozens of children who have lost their lives due to bombing and starvation. These conditions require urgent action from the international community to save the Palestinian people.
