Contrary to the claims of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court and denied in a press conference today, Sunday, the genocide and starvation in the Gaza Strip, images continue to emerge from the besieged territory revealing the extent of the tragedy, where children die in their mothers' arms in front of the world.
Reports from international humanitarian organizations and Arab and global media have documented the worsening famine in Gaza due to the Israeli blockade. The Ministry of Health in the Strip stated in its latest report today that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 217 deaths since the beginning of the war, including one hundred children.
In the following image captured by Reuters, nine-year-old Maryam Abdul Aziz Dwaas lies on a bed in a shelter in Gaza City, her bones protruding due to malnutrition. Medical examinations confirmed that Maryam does not suffer from an organic disease but has lost weight due to malnutrition.
In another image, Jana Ayad lies in a hospital in Gaza City suffering from malnutrition amid the absence of necessary treatments due to the blockade. Nisma Ayad holds her daughter Jana's hand in a photo dated July 29.
As for Huda Abu Najah, she is receiving treatment inside the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where her mother, Sumaya, explains how her daughter's condition deteriorated due to famine. The photo was taken on August 5.
Two-year-old Sham Qadiha suffers from liver enlargement and severe malnutrition, with her weight dropping to 4 kilograms. Doctors say her condition is critical and she urgently needs to leave the Gaza Strip for treatment abroad.
Last Tuesday (August 5), 15-year-old Tamer Shaheeb died from complications of severe malnutrition. His mother cried as she recounted to reporters how he was withering away before her eyes while she could do nothing to help him.
