The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 61,430 dead and 153,213 injuries since October 7, 2023. This figure reflects the scale of the humanitarian disaster faced by the residents of the besieged enclave.
In the past 24 hours, 61 dead and 363 injuries have arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the ongoing Israeli aggression and the worsening humanitarian situation. The ministry confirmed that the number of martyrs and injuries since the resumption of the genocide on March 18 has reached 9,921 martyrs and 41,172 injuries.
The ministry also reported that the number of martyrs among those waiting for aid has risen to 1,778 dead, in addition to more than 21,894 injuries since May 27. These figures indicate the extent of suffering endured by Palestinians under the ongoing siege and aggression.
In another context, hospitals in Gaza recorded 5 deaths in the past 24 hours, including two children, due to famine and malnutrition, bringing the total to 217 deaths, including 100 children since the war began. These numbers reflect the catastrophic situation faced by children and women in the enclave.
The ministry emphasized that many victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, where rescue and civil defense teams are unable to reach them. This situation highlights the urgent need to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to the residents of the enclave.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls. These actions require urgent action from the international community to stop the aggression.
The Israeli security cabinet, "the Cabinet," has also approved a plan to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip, which threatens more casualties due to the war of genocide and starvation. This step reflects the occupation's intention to escalate aggression against the Palestinians.
For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and territories in Syria and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders prior to the 1967 war. This ongoing occupation contributes to the exacerbation of humanitarian and political crises in the region.
Many victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, where rescue and civil defense teams are unable to reach them even at this moment.
