The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, noting that this decision has serious implications for the humanitarian situation in the region.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that the implementation of these decisions would exacerbate the already dramatic situation on the Palestinian side, which is already suffering from a suffocating humanitarian crisis.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also warned that these steps could worsen international efforts aimed at de-escalating the conflict in the region, which could negatively impact the stability of the entire Middle East.
Russia emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages and detainees, and the restoration of unhindered humanitarian access.
The ministry reiterated Moscow's firm position that there is no alternative to resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the principles recognized in international law, including the two-state solution principle.
This principle calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, to coexist peacefully and securely alongside the occupying state.
The implementation of such decisions and plans, which provoke condemnation and rejection, would lead to the exacerbation of the dramatic situation.
