Palestine requests an emergency meeting of the Arab League to discuss countering the plan to occupy Gaza.

On Friday, Palestine requested an urgent meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives to discuss confronting Israeli crimes in light of the Israeli government's approval of a gradual plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the permanent representative of Palestine to the Arab League, Muhannad Al-Aklouk.

Al-Aklouk confirmed that the permanent mission of the State of Palestine to the Arab League requested to hold an extraordinary session of the Council at the level of permanent representatives, based on directives from the Palestinian presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. This request comes to discuss mechanisms for action at both the Arab and international levels to confront Israeli crimes.

Al-Aklouk explained that the request for this meeting comes in the context of the ongoing crimes of aggression and genocide committed by the occupying state against the Palestinian people for more than 671 consecutive days. He also pointed out that the Israeli decision to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip will lead to the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.

Al-Aklouk warned that this decision will result in the commission of more horrific bloodbaths, the imposition of further starvation, and the continued destruction of Palestinian refugee camps. He emphasized the necessity of issuing an Arab decision during the meeting for effective action at both the Arab and international levels to pursue the perpetrators of these crimes.

In a related context, the Israeli security cabinet 'kitchen' approved a 'gradual' plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, starting with the occupation of Gaza City by displacing its residents, then surrounding the city and carrying out incursions into residential gathering centers. This step comes amid ongoing American support.

According to United Nations data, 87 percent of the area of the Gaza Strip is now under Israeli occupation or subject to evacuation orders, warning that any new military expansion will have catastrophic consequences. The Israeli genocide has resulted in 61,258 deaths and 152,045 injuries, with more than 9,000 missing.

Israeli crimes continue to ignore all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop, which increases the suffering of the Palestinian people and reflects the scale of the violations they are subjected to.
