U.S. Vice President: We have no plans to recognize a Palestinian state.

JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, announced during a press conference at Chevening House in southern England that the United States has no plans to recognize a Palestinian state. These statements come at a sensitive time as Palestinians seek greater international recognition for their state.

Vance clarified that he will meet with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy to discuss this issue, noting that former U.S. President Donald Trump was clear about his goals in the Middle East, and that the current administration will continue in this direction.

It is worth mentioning that about 144 out of 193 member states of the United Nations recognize Palestine as a state, including countries like Russia, China, and India. However, most European countries, with a few exceptions, remain hesitant to take the step of recognition.

In a related context, French President Emmanuel Macron announced last July France's intention to move forward with recognizing Palestine, indicating a diplomatic shift that could affect the stance of other Western countries.

This U.S. position reflects the continuation of a policy of non-recognition of a Palestinian state in the absence of an effective government, raising questions about the future of the peace process in the region.

This statement comes at a time when international pressure is increasing on the United States to change its position, especially with the growing recognition of Palestine by other countries around the world.
