The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the security cabinet (the cabinet) has approved a proposal to take control of Gaza City. The five principles adopted by the security cabinet include disarming Hamas, returning all hostages, stripping the Gaza Strip of weapons, Israeli security control over the strip, and establishing an alternative civilian administration that does not follow Hamas or the Palestinian Authority. However, many ministers have confirmed that the alternative plan will not achieve its goals.
