41 Dead in Gaza Since Dawn and UNRWA Condemns the Killing of Those Seeking Food
The continued killing of Palestinians while they attempt to obtain food is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
Medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported that the number of martyrs who have fallen since dawn today has risen to 41, including 18 who were seeking humanitarian aid in various areas of the besieged enclave, amid the escalation of the Israeli occupation's ongoing aggression against the besieged territory.
In a related context, the Ambulance and Emergency Authority in Gaza announced the recovery of the bodies of four Palestinians who were martyred while trying to reach humanitarian aid near the Netzarim axis in the center of the enclave, amidst the tragic humanitarian conditions that residents are experiencing, with the ongoing siege and severe shortages of food and basic aid.
In its daily statement, the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed a new toll of victims from the ongoing Israeli aggression that has lasted for more than two years, where the number of martyrs reached 138, and 771 others were injured by the occupation's fire during the past 24 hours, in a dangerous escalation that threatens the lives of residents in the enclave.
The ministry clarified that 87 martyrs and 570 injured among those who were waiting for humanitarian aid fell during the same period, raising the toll of victims of the Israeli aggression since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, to more than 61,000 martyrs and 151,000 injured.
In a related context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that the continued killing of Palestinians while they attempt to obtain food is unacceptable, and that the policy of siege and starvation must stop immediately, expressing its deep concern over the escalating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
UNRWA stated via its account on the X platform that the United Nations has been warning for months about the dire consequences unfolding in the enclave, where Palestinians are starving and are subjected to gunfire while trying to secure a livelihood for their families, emphasizing the urgent need for a political decision to open the crossings unconditionally and allow international organizations and their partners to carry out their humanitarian missions immediately.
